I am the proud owner of Wellness through movement Pilates studio, based in the beautiful leafy suburb of Welgemoed, Cape Town. I took up Pilates in 2006 after the birth of my first son. I was so intrigued with the way Pilates made me feel, that I decided to get my certification and exit the corporate rat race. I completed my B.A.S.I (Body Arts and Science International) Pilates Instructor Mat course in 2010. I also completed the Reformer Equipment course in 2017 at Conscious Movement. I love teaching mat group classes and we use all kinds of small equipment. I do a lot of research on a weekly basis to keep the classes interesting and fresh, always based on the principles of the Pilates method. I continue to expand my business vision by empowering and inspiring people to achieve the results they desire, while enabling them an improved and active lifestyle. I continue my education through a variety of workshops on offer in Cape Town.
Wellness also offers Yoga classes on Wednesdays. I am a keen believer in the cross training benefits of a variety of movement disciplines. My classes are focused, and a lot of my queuing is based on the precision of movement, as I always refer my clients back to the fact that Pilates was initially called ‘Contrology’- connecting the mind and body through movement. Pilates and movement has become such a strong part of my being, that healthy eating and maintaining a balanced lifestyle is a natural overflow. I have witnessed both the mental and physical benefits of Pilates and clients will always leave my studio feeling better about life and themselves.
